Is It A Bathroom Rug Or A Bath Mat?

Is there any difference between a bathroom rug and a bath mat?

Sure there's a difference. Well, kind of.

• A bathroom rug is just what it sounds like: a rug. It is a floor covering that is placed anywhere in the home, including the bathroom. When it's placed in the bathroom it can be put in any location: Near the sink, the toilet, in the middle of the room, etc.
• A bath mat, on the other hand, is absorbent and soft. (A bathroom rug might be absorbent and soft, too, but not always.) A bath mat is intended to be placed next to a bathtub or shower so that it's the first thing the bather steps on when they have finished bathing.

However, the phrases "bathroom rug" and "bath mat" are interchangeable to some folks. That means that if you're shopping for a bathroom rug (or bath mat) make sure it's the type of rug you're really looking for.

Save The Bathroom Rug For Later

If you find a Western bathroom rug that you like on Etsy but you're not ready to purchase it right away, you can always add it to your shopping cart so it will be easy to find later.

• In most cases, Etsy will keep track of your rug, and anything else in your shopping cart, for 30 days.

Important: Putting items in your Etsy shopping cart or "Save for later" list does NOT reserve them! It just makes them easier to find if they're still available when you come back.
