- The steer wrestling photos below are not necessarily in order. The Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo had 3 sessions of steer wrestling the day we were there. The photos below could be from any session, and are in no particular order.
- Whenever we are able to identify a contestant, their name will be given.

Notice that as the steer leaves the box that he isn't carrying a rope to release the barrier. That's because at Cheyenne the judge pulls the barrier by hand.
At Cheyenne the timed-event contestants have a 30 foot score (that means the steers and calves get a 30 foot head start).
This is the same steer wrestler that is in the first two photos.
Unfortunately, his run ends unsuccessfully.

Suddenly, two match racers were competing on the racetrack. They started a few feet on the other side of their respective poles......
......sprinted to the poles, turned them, then tore down the track in front of the grandstands to the finish line.
Steers have no respect. Not for the miles you travel, the entry fees you pay, or all the money, prizes, and titles you've won in the past.
This began a streak of bad luck for the steer wrestlers.
This guy hung in there for a long time. A really long time. He never gave up, but ultimately the steer won that day.
Steers have no respect.
