What Are Wrangler Cowboy Cut Jeans? Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans were
designed and tested by real cowboys. These jeans feature extra room in the seat
and thigh to allow you to be comfortable on a horse, higher back pockets so you
don't sit on your wallet or hoof pick, a wide space between the front belt loops
to allow room for Western and/or trophy buckles, a tapered leg from the knee
down to fit over your boots, and smooth round rivets.
For men, they are available in original, slim and relaxed fit. For women,
Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans are available in original, slim, classic and relaxed
fits.
General Jeans Terms
Rigid jeans - During the jeans making process most denim material has
a special starch applied to make the fabric more rigid. This makes the denim
easier to work with while weaving, cutting, and sewing. Most jeans are sold only
after the starch has been washed out (jeans with the starch washed out are
called pre-washed, stonewashed etc.). If the jeans are sold with the starch
still in them they are called rigid jeans.
Rigid denim jeans will shrink will shrink 3 to 4% after 1 to 3 home washings.
Because of this, it's a good idea to purchase rigid jeans that are an inch
larger in the waist and an inch longer in the inseam than other jeans that are
sold pre-washed, stonewashed etc. For the best care of your new rigid jeans read
and follow the manufacturer's label for washing them. The label will probably
tell you to wash the jeans inside-out and in hot water. Washing them inside-out
helps to preserve their color, and if you wash them in cold water the starch may
not dissolve cleanly leaving the jeans with permanent white spots.
To minimize shrinkage dry the jeans in a cool dryer, or dry them in a warm
dryer for only a few minutes and allow them to air dry after that.
Fit - When referring to jeans, "fit" means
how tightly or loosely the jeans are designed to fit on your body. In
particular, fit refers to the seat and thigh areas.
- Slim Fit jeans are tight in the seat and thigh.
- Regular Fit jeans fit closely in the seat and thigh but are not as
closely cut as Slim Fit jeans.
- Relaxed Fit jeans have extra room in the seat and thigh.
- Loose Fit jeans are very roomy and can even be baggy.
