A Little Bit About Leanin' Tree
Leanin’ Tree, the greeting card company so appreciated by Western art lovers,
was founded in 1949 in Colorado by Ed Trumble and Bob Lorenz. Having little
money to launch their company, they created a painting for the cover of Western
Livestock Magazine (painted by Bob) for which they received as payment a full
page of advertising for their Western Christmas cards. At that time they only
had four cards to offer, but the response was overwhelming and the two men and
their fledgling company were on their way.
When Bob Lorenz passed away in 1965 Ed Trumble purchased full ownership of
Leanin' Tree. Since then, the company has grown and flourished as a family-owned
business with more than 3,000 cards with a wide variety of themes. The stated
Purposes and Goals of the company include "Leanin' Tree is in the happiness business.
Leanin' Tree shall produce products that are positive, uplifting, and
life-enhancing."
