About Horse Training Books, Videos, DVDs, and More On eBay
eBay almost always has an excellent selection of
horse training books, videos, DVDs, and other items for sale. The great thing
about shopping on eBay for these items is that you can find everything from the
newest, hottest releases (including hard-to-find items) as well as
out-of-production items. Below is some information you may want to be aware of
when shopping for books, videos, DVDs, and other items.
Horse Training Books
ISBN Number - ISBN stands for International Standard
Book Number. An ISBN number is a number assigned to each unique book and its
different editions (if any). An ISBN number is a very good way to identify a
specific book and/or a specific edition of a book.
In the eBay listing, look for the ISBN
number in the description of the book (if given, it's usually toward the very
top of the description).
Horse Training Videos
NTSC Format - The video standard or electronic signal
recorded on video cassettes varies from country to country. The two most
common video standards are NTSC and PAL.
NTSC is the standard used in North America (and most of South America). So, if
you live in the USA or Canada and you are buying a horse training video on eBay
you will likely want the NTSC format so that your video player can understand
it.
In the eBay listing, look for the
video format in the description of the video (it's usually toward the very top
of the description). Keep in mind some sellers may not give the format because
they don't know about or understand what the formats are. In general, if
you live in the United States or Canada and purchased your video player locally,
purchase videos from North America.
Horse Training DVDs
Region Code - Region codes on DVDs are used so that
the maker of the DVD can control where they release their material. Region 1 is
the region code for North America, which, of course, includes the United States
and Canada. Region 0 (zero) is for all regions worldwide. There are 5 other
regions, but we're not mentioning them here.
The region code (or codes, a DVD may have more than one) is embedded into the
DVD. To play a DVD labeled with a Region 1 code you will need a Region 1 DVD
player. If you live in the US or Canada and bought your DVD player locally then
you should be able to play Region 1 and Region 0 DVD's.
Not all eBay sellers will mention the region code in the item's description
because a lot of people don't understand them. In general, if you live in the
United States or Canada try to purchase DVDs from North America. If the seller
does mention the region code, it will usually be at the start of the description
of the item.
Horse Training eBooks
An eBook (or Ebook, ebook, etc.) is an electronic
book. Instead of printed information bound in a cover, an eBook is entirely
electronic and designed to be read on a computer screen. They are a lot like a
self-contained website. The main advantages of eBooks are lower cost than
traditional books, and ease of use and navigation: They are filled with
hyperlinks so you can simply click a link to move to another area of the ebook
instead of flipping through a lot of pages. Depending on the eBook, you may or
may not be able to print the pages yourself from your own computer.
